We are delighted to announce we have acquired Aberdeen based CIU from ICR. The acquisition will see SES Energy become sole owner of CIU, including both chemical injection utilities and corrosion monitoring services, and its 49-strong technical team.
This acquisition represents the first step in SES Energy’s growth plan under new ownership, reflecting the company’s commitment to expanding its technical expertise and product offerings across international markets.
The company will continue to be an authorised distributor and service centre for Williams, Milton Roy and Kenco Engineering products.
CIU Director, Alan Simpson will join SES Energy, ensuring continuity for customers and the retention of key technical and commercial relationships.
The acquisition introduces new products and services to SES Energy’s chemical and tank offering, enabling the company to use its international platform to scale specialist inspection, maintenance and testing capabilities into new regions, while ensuring continued high service standards.
Manfred Vonlanthen, chief executive officer of SES Energy, said: “This milestone sets SES Energy on an accelerated path to global growth, as we embrace the next phase under our new ownership.
“CIU is a business that has built an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and consistent service delivery - values that align closely with ours. We are excited to welcome the CIU team into SES Energy. This acquisition brings a complementary skillset into our group and strengthens our global chemical and tank offering.
“We are particularly excited about the opportunity to take CIU’s capabilities and customer-focused approach onto a wider international platform. By combining its specialist expertise with SES Energy’s global footprint, we can support both existing CIU clients and new customers with the same high standards, wherever they operate.”
Alan Simpson, CIU director, added: “The energy market increasingly relies on specialist chemical injection services and corrosion monitoring. We have spent years building the expertise and reputation that customers can depend on and joining SES Energy allows us to maintain that trusted service from day one - while opening the door to new opportunities.
“For our customers, this means continuity, reliability and access to a wider global platform. For our team, it means stability, growth and the chance to bring their skills to projects around the world. We’re excited to begin this next chapter together.”
