SES Energy Wins First Major North Sea Onshore Inspection Contract

Aberdeen-based global offshore container solution provider, SES Energy has been awarded its first major North Sea onshore inspection contract.

Materials and logistics management specialist, ASCO has appointed SES Energy to provide sea-fastening and inspection services to its clients across the Central North Sea.

The scope of work also includes welding services and the supply of rigging gear, and will be centred around ASCO’s South Base in Peterhead.

SES Energy has extended its testing and inspection capabilities in the region and recently hired a number of experienced test engineers, as it continues to move towards becoming a complete services provider.

The testing and inspection team is led by Paul Emslie, SES Energy’ Inspection Services Manager, who has more than 20 years’ industry experience.

Commenting on the ASCO award, SES Energy general manager, Alister Beck, said: “This contract win is the result of a determined push to expand our capabilities and reach in the testing and inspection market.

ASCO Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Project Manager Neil Kennedy said: “We are delighted to have extended our relationship with SES Energy with the award of this contract.

“The team there made its intentions very clear on how it would fulfil the contract and has taken all the necessary steps that we feel are required to meet the demands of the agreement.”

With testing and inspection teams in Aberdeen, Peterhead, Heysham & Great Yarmouth, SES Energy has positioned itself to be at the forefront of inspections in all of these locations.
