Jet A-1 Fuel Supply

SES Energy supplies, manages and distributes a diverse range of aviation fuels, while also delivering comprehensive tank fleet management, fuel testing, and associated fuel support services.

Jet A-1 is the globally recognised kerosene-based aviation fuel used in turbine-engine aircraft - including commercial airliners, helicopters, and many military platforms. Its supply demands strict compliance with international standards for quality, safety, and handling to protect fuel integrity at every stage, from bulk storage through to aircraft or transportable tank delivery.

SES Energy operates facilities specifically designed for the safe and efficient dispensing of Jet A-1 into transportable tanks, with all maintenance and handling processes carried out in full compliance with current regulations. Dispensing operations are managed via a batch-controlled system, and comprehensive documentation is provided to support secure fuel dispatch.

Fuel quality is monitored and controlled to the highest standards, in full compliance with Def Stan 91-091, ASTM D1655, and ASTM D7566, ensuring that every delivery meets the rigorous demands of aviation operations.

Dispensing & Transfer

SES Energy dispenses fuel from bulk storage into transportable tanks and carry out all maintenance procedures in full compliance with current regulations.

Jet A-1 dispensing is performed using calibrated systems that ensure accurate volume measurement while protecting fuel quality. Our batch-controlled systems provide:

  • Automate the dispensing process
  • Record volume, batch number, and product details
  • Generate documentation for traceability and regulatory compliance
  • Reduce human error and ensure consistent quality

This ensures that every dispatched load meets the required specifications and has a full audit trail. We maintain a closed, traceable system to ensure the product is protected from contamination at every stage.

Quality Assured & Tested

Jet A-1 fuel undergoes strict and continuous quality control to ensure full compliance with internationally recognised specifications, including DEF STAN 91-091, ASTM D1655, and - for offshore aviation operations - CAA CAP 437. These standards govern the safety, handling and performance characteristics required for the fuel to be considered airworthy.

A comprehensive suite of tests is performed to verify product quality, including:

  • Visual appearance, confirming the fuel is clear, bright, and free from visible particulates.
  • Density and temperature measurements, ensuring the fuel falls within approved specification ranges.
  • Flash point testing, verifying the minimum temperature at which vapours may ignite.
  • Freezing point assessment, confirming the fuel will remain fluid at the low temperatures encountered in flight.
  • Electrical conductivity testing, ensuring safe dissipation of static electricity during handling.
  • Particulate and water contamination checks, detecting the presence of solids or moisture that could compromise engine performance or safety.

Routine sampling is conducted at every point of custody transfer - from bulk storage through each stage of the distribution chain -to ensure the fuel continues to meet all technical specifications before it is authorised for onward delivery or use.
